Terms of Service

Effective date: September 4, 2026

1. About Gnimri

Gnimri is an AI-narrated dark fantasy survival RPG operated by Familiaris Games ("we", "us", "our"). All narration, NPC dialogue, scene descriptions, and in-game content are generated in real time by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude). By using Gnimri you agree to these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Gnimri, or at least 16 if you reside in the EU/EEA. By creating an account you confirm you meet the applicable age requirement. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to purchase a subscription.

3. Accounts

One account per person.
You are responsible for keeping your email and password secure.
Account sharing is not permitted.
You may delete your account at any time from the Account page; this cancels any active subscription and permanently removes all associated data.

4. AI-Generated Content

All game narration, NPC dialogue, descriptions, and story events are generated by AI and do not represent the views of Familiaris Games.
AI content may occasionally contain errors, inconsistencies, or unexpected material. Content moderation is applied but is not perfect.
You should not rely on AI-generated game content for real-world information or decisions.
Your text commands and game context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models.

5. Acceptable Use

When using multiplayer features (whispers, roars, and other player-to-player communication) you agree not to:

Harass, threaten, or abuse other players.
Send hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language.
Share personal information about other people without consent.
Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the service.

Outgoing player messages are moderated by AI. Violations of these rules may result in account suspension or termination at our discretion.

6. Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds

Playing Gnimri requires a paid subscription. Current plans and prices are listed on the Pricing page. Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes; applicable taxes are calculated and added at checkout based on your location.

Merchant of record. Subscriptions are sold by Stripe, acting as merchant of record through Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe collects payment, calculates and remits applicable taxes, issues your receipt, and handles payment disputes. Familiaris Games provides the service. By subscribing you also agree to the Stripe terms presented at checkout. We never see or store your full card details.
Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically every month until cancelled. Your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period.
Token budget. All-inclusive plans include a monthly AI token budget shown on the Pricing page. When it is used up, play resumes at the start of your next billing period. Unused budget does not carry over. The BYOK plan has no budget from us; you pay Anthropic directly for the tokens your key consumes.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from the Account page ("Manage Subscription"). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Deleting your account cancels your subscription immediately.
Refunds. Except as described below or required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not give partial refunds for unused time or unused token budget. If the service is unavailable for a substantial part of a billing period because of a fault on our side, contact us and we will arrange a refund or credit for that period. Refunds are issued by Stripe to your original payment method.
Right of withdrawal (EU, EEA, and UK consumers). You have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. By subscribing you ask for the service to start immediately. If you withdraw within the 14-day period after using the service, an amount proportional to the service already provided, measured by the share of your monthly token budget consumed, may be deducted. To withdraw, email legal@familiaris.games from the address on your account and we will process it with Stripe; you may also contact Stripe directly as the merchant of record.
Price changes. We may change prices for future billing periods. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before a price change takes effect, and you may cancel before it applies.
Suspension. If a renewal payment fails, we may suspend play until payment succeeds and cancel the subscription if it remains unpaid.

7. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)

If you choose the BYOK subscription tier and provide your own Anthropic API key:

Your use of the Anthropic API is also subject to Anthropic's Terms of Service.
You are solely responsible for any charges incurred on your Anthropic account.
Familiaris Games does not monitor or control your Anthropic API usage beyond what the game requires.

8. Intellectual Property

Game code, design, artwork, music, and branding are owned by Familiaris Games / Juan Irming.
AI-generated narrative content is not claimed as copyrighted by either party, consistent with current legal understanding of AI-generated works.
By posting user-generated content (character names, whispers, roars, letters), you grant us a non-exclusive license to display that content within the game as necessary to operate the service.

9. Service Availability

Gnimri is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, data persistence, or any particular level of AI quality. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Familiaris Games shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or interruption of service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. For BYOK users, we accept no liability for Anthropic API charges incurred through use of the game.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Account page. Upon termination, any active subscription is cancelled and all associated data is permanently deleted. If we terminate your account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we will refund the unused portion of the current billing period.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of Gnimri after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
